The Day that Never Happened, With the Girl Who Doesn't Exist

Intensely vivid dream I had earlier this morning
___________________________________________________

I was lying in the guest bedroom around midday. Grandparents were over, mom was home. It was a slightly over cast afternoon and  was probably going to rain within an hour. There was a knock on the door downstairs- for me. It was XxXXXxxX. I brought her back upstairs to where I was laying. Things were so comfortable and unforced. We just laid on the bed for a bit until she rolled over and looked at me with a happy, eager, kiddish smile, and asked me if I wanted to play a game. (perfect! I’d been bored all day I thought. right on time.) I said yes! I’m soo ready for a game! What do you have in mind? (yes we were lying in my bed but no dirty thoughts or games even crossed my mind. [which is saying something]).

She called it the “chin game” you have to get closer and closer and plant you chin on the other persons head she says, "but if they get you first, you lose." Interesting, I thought this could lead to a very interesting first kiss. We moved in to my current bedroom to continue the game. We were in the process of moving things around so my room was basically a dresser with a stereo on it, and a blanket across the floor comfortable enough for the optimist to call it a “big mattress”.  Some electro mix was playing softly in the background as we rolled around each other, inching closer and closer, touching occasionally but keeping a playful, flirtatious distance. After a few times of touching my chin to the top of her head I remember the music getting louder. We noticed the mix playing had elements of Latin mixed with some hardstyle/trance. She said “let’s make a new dance out of it.”(I was soo down haha). I stood up and started moving my body, definitely feeling the latin vibe of the song. (so I was swaying but almost pulling a Melbourne shuffle at the same time).
Once I got into the groove I grabbed her by the hand and pulled her up from the floor to join me. For a *****ian girl she moved very well to the music. Fluid almost, her body matching mine. We caught each other’s rhythm and began trying spins, swirls, everything. At one point I spun her out and she came back to meet my body, her back to my front. We stayed like this for a little bit; savoring the embrace, until she realized it was time for her to go. She turned around uttering something and we kissed. This kiss was on accident. It was a perfect accident because we held the kiss as if we had done it on purpose. It was obvious we'd both wanted the same thing to happen for a while. No tongue though, we didn’t force it. It was VERY smooth, natural.
“Ahh, so you’re out?” I ask, but kind of mumbled because her reply was, “yea my dad said I should”. Obviously she misheard me, but what she heard was perfect. “What??” I asked in confusion. “yea I was surprised too” she says. (i'm still lost here). “wait. Surprised about what?” I ask as we head down the stairs. And she finally cleared it up as she turned around and looked at me, serious face and all, with a sexy, intriguing smirk though, she says, “my dad said I should let you take me out”
“YESSS!!” and a fist pump of excitement (all in my head of course). “O wow really?” I ask. She was like “yea I was surprised he felt that way about it.” (in a perfect world race doesn’t matter but in this one there was obviously a conflict with an older father from another time where things weren’t so mixed). “So how YOU feel about it?"

No reply, just a playful smile as she steps out of the front door.

She asks me about the fruits hanging from the tree outside my house as the rain begins to mist and refresh the world around us. It’s the beginning of spring and the lush green colors are already flowing from tree to tree. “that’s an apple” I tell her about the extremely over-sized fruit hanging outside my house. “Really?” She reaches up, touches it, and the apple falls from the tree and breaks open, fresh and crisp inside.

-“Yea, they’re almost there, should be nice and ripe in a week or two” my mom says as she starts to step outside. She doesn’t make it all the way out though, I wasn’t going to let her cut the moment short; I wanted a straight answer.

So I ask again “how do YOU feel about the date thing?” a pause then a look that unmistakably says, “of course”
“give me a call” she says as she walks away and disappears…

the last thing I remember before waking though is sitting down and riding a skateboard in traffic on the way back to my house. (I have no idea where this fits into to the story besides the fact that the direction I was coming from, I may have been coming from her house.) ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
